Stefan Bödecker the city planner of the renewal scheme for the area, came to explain the design brief to the youngsters from the two neighborhood schools Calvijn met Junior College and Prof Einstein School.“The park takes a central place in the master plan for the area. It has been assigned a vital social role, as the heart of the neighborhood. It will be used by all the people from the adjacent buildings: school, residential housing, retirement complex and a mosque.”
